Cultural Resource Management Contribution For A Fatal Flaw Analysis

CRC can assess the Area of Potential Effect for your proposed project and assist in minimizing your exposure for any Cultural Resource Management risks - while your project is still in the planning stage. Curtail late "surprises." Discovering cultural resource management hazards after the planning stage can lead to unnecessary delays and expenses. The analysis is a relatively inexpensive method for obtaining knowledgeable precautions and clearances - and the cost is always recouped when any future, required cultural resource field investigation for the proposed project is completed by CRC.

CRC's Fatal Flaw Analysis includes the following tasks:

  • Site Reconnaissance.
  • Regulatory-Database Review.
  • Interviews with Knowledgeable Individuals.
  • Historical Sanborn Insurance Maps Review. Collection dates from 1866 and includes over 1.2 million Sanborn maps chronicling the history of approximately 12,000 American cities and towns.
  • Historical-Aerial-Photograph Review.
  • Historical Topographic-Map Review.
  • Review of Regional and Local Geology.
  • Review of Regional and Local Soil Conditions.
  • Review of All Currently Listed Cultural Resources - including National Register of Historic Properties, State Landmark listings, and Pre-recorded Archaeological sites.
  • Preliminary Assessment of Unrecorded Historical Architecture.
  • Preliminary Assessment of the Scientific Value of Pre-recorded Archaeological Sites.
  • Recommend a Method of Avoidance, Significance Testing, or Mitigation for Existing Cultural Resources.
  • Provide a Statistical Analysis of the Probability of Finding Unrecorded Historic and Pre-historic Sites.
  • Consultations and Agreements with the Lead Federal and/or State Cultural Resource Management Compliance Reviewers.
  • Preparation of an Estimated Scope of Work Requirements.
  • Detailed Estimated Time and Expenses for the Completion of any Cultural Resource Management Requirements for the Proposed Project.
  • Preparation of a Findings and Opinion Report by a Registered Professional Archaeologist.
  • And more...
